The North Perth Fire Department is reminding residents the cost of false fire alarm calls.
On Tuesday morning fire crews responded to a general fire alarm, only to find it to be a false alarm to the same address they’ve responded to many times over the past year.
North Perth holds a bylaw in place which charges property owners for third and following false alarms with the owner given a $600 invoice for the call on Tuesday.
Fire crews will also complete a fire safety inspection at the cost of the owner.
The fire department is asking residents to ensure they maintain their fire alarms to save their wallet and themselves in the time of a real emergency.
