Six medals have been awarded to Avon Maitland District School Board as part of the Junk Drawer Races.
The races are a curriculum based grade level, design and build challenge made by Skills Ontario with students designing, building and testing a list of projects.
This year saw grades 2-8 take part in nearly every public school within the school board.
Avon Public School won bronze in the Cardboard Car Challenge, Anne Hathaway grabbed gold and bronze with Brookside snagging silver in the Paper Glider Competition and Elma Township dominated in the Hydraulic Crane competition with gold and bronze medals.
Winners will now head off to the Provincial Championship Round to refine and resubmit their projects to compete.
