The Specialty High Skills Major program helps prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow and is seen as key in increasing awareness of and exposure to key sectors in the Province. It helps to prepare students for success, improve academic achievement and gets them the skills needed to enter post secondary education and the working world.
Currently all 8 secondary schools in the board offer Major program for a total of 30 programs that represent 12 industry sectors. Announced today was that St. Mary’s DCVI has been approved to offer a new program in Manufacturing that will welcome students in September.
This comes on the heels of the School Board and Fanshawe who announced a partnership which expanded the dual credit options. The board is hoping to continue expanded dual credits with other partners Lambton and Conestoga.
