Waterloo Regional Police have provided a minor update in regards to Friday mornings Amber Alert which was issued just after 6am.
Police say someone who saw the alert and vehicle description was able to locate the vehicle in a parking lot in Kitchener and contacted police which led to the child found safely and a male arrested.
Waterloo Police spokesperson Cherri Greeno says while they understand messages received from some are upset from being woken up, she adds the alert proved effective to locating the child and suspect.
The investigation remains ongoing.
