64 Year Old Charged After Reporting Fabricated Robbery

A 64 year old Hanover man has been charged after reporting a fabricated robbery to police on Friday.

Police Chief Chris Knoll says initially the report of a mugging occurred at around 10pm in the downtown back alley between 9th Ave & 10th Ave just north of 10th street.

A man in his 60’s claims he was punched and thrown to the ground before being robbed of his phone and wallet by two suspects.

After investigation Hanover Police determined no such incident ever occurred which has resulted in the man being charged with Public Mischief, Breach of Probation and Breach of a Conditional Sentence Order.
