The project has seen opposition from local residents who viewed such things as the minister zoning order which rezoned the site without public input and the potential environmental impact once the factory was operational.
The factory would have seen a 400 million dollar capital investment and was destine to create 380 permanent jobs in the area from company estimates.
The project had been in the works since 2018. The company states they appreciate the support received for the project by the business community and many residents. They also had assistance from the Provincial and Federal Government.
