It was a record year for Avon Maitland District School Board students getting into apprenticeships.
The school board says 47 students took part in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program over the last school year.
Among the 47, eleven were female who registered for the program.
OYAP helps students in high school get into skilled trades and the apprenticeship skillset by allowing students to get right into an apprenticeship while they are in co-op.
