$335,500 Invested for Asylum Claimants in Wellington County

Perth Wellington MPP Matthew Rae has announced $335,500 is being invested to help find long term housing for Asylum Claimants in Wellington County.

Rae says its the duty of the government to help those fleeing conflict or persecution.

The provincial government is putting in $42 million through the Canada Ontario Housing Benefit to support impacted municipalities across the province to provide help to a growing number of asylum claimants and other at risk populations.

This year alone Ontario could receive more than 72,000 asylum claimants, nearly twice as much seen last year.
