Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy has provided an update on drug poisonings in Wellington County and Guelph at the halfway mark of the year.
2026 has proven to a rough year for incidents as drug poisonings have increased greatly.
Last month recorded the highest number of incidents in the Guelph-Wellington region since local surveillance began.
269 incidents have been reported this year, more than double the number reported from the same time last year.
The majority of fatalities have taken place in Wellington County of 11 of the 17 deaths coming in the county.
