Arrests have been made in connection to grandparent scams.
One incident was first reported on January 12th with the victim receiving a call from someone claiming to be a cop who said their grandson was arrested and bail was required for release.
A transaction occurred on the same day with $8400 cash being arranged.
The report was shared with police on January 15th after the victim learned it was a scam.
A second victim says they were contacted with a similar story on the morning on the 15th with the scammer arriving to the victims house with $7300 in cash being exchanged.
A third victim had contacted police about the same scam and said the suspect was to arrive at their home within the hour of the phone call.
Police attended the scene and found the suspect.
The accused, an 18 year old from Brampton was arrested after some resistance and charged with three counts of fraud over $5000, three counts of extortion and one count of resisting arrest.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
