A 10 year was taken to hospital after getting sick for eating a candy which was later found to be a THC edible.
On April 13th Stratford Police were informed a youth arrived at the Pyramid Recreation Centre in St Marys for an after school program who was seen on surveillance finding a candy on the floor of the entrance and ate it.
The youth then became ill prompting parents to have the youth take him to hospital. It was confirmed THC was present in the youth’s blood.
Stratford police are reminding parents to educate their kids on not eating unknown items.
Cannabis edibles can have similar appearances to popular candies and can be incredibly dangerous to youth.
